The thesis examines whether the momentum anomaly exists regardless of investor’s funding condition in Korean stock market from 1999 to 2017. Momentum return is not affected by funding condition in double sorted portfolio by firm size and past performance as well as different holding period. Moreover, there is no difference in liquidity between winner and loser portfolio sorted by past performance. When the sample period is divided into optimistic and pessimistic economic period, the higher momentum return is observed during optimistic economic period regardless of the funding condition status. Finally, it is determined that there is no significant relationship between restrictive funding condition and momentum return based on regression analysis including firm specific characteristics and market liquidity factor. Meanwhile, the stronger momentum anomaly is identified during higher market liquidity period with significant positive relationship between the market liquidity and momentum return.
