This study analyzed the effect of patent disclosure in relation to the frequency of such disclosures. According to KOSDAQ(Korean Securities Dealers Automated Quotations) standards, we divided companies into four divisions: venture, superior, mid-sized, and technology-growth divisions. Each division was then divided into high and low disclosure groups; then each of the eight groups were analyzed. As a result, the venture and medium-sized divisions with a high frequency of patent disclosure confirmed the existence of a negative response by the market to patent disclosure. The interpretation of this is that in these cases the market responds to an abuse of patent disclosure. In addition, the higher frequency technology-growth group showed a higher positive disclosure effect than the other groups. It is found that the enterprise value of technology-growth firms is influenced by the frequency of patent disclosure, and the smaller the investment in development costs, the greater the effect of patent disclosure.
본 연구에서는 특허 공시의 빈도에 따른 특허 공시 효과를 분석하였다. 코스닥 기준에 따라 벤처기업부, 우량기업부, 중견기업부, 기술성장기업부의 4개의 소속부로 분류하여 특허 공시 빈도에 따른 공시 효과의 차이를 확인하는 방법을 사용 하였다. 각 소속부를 다시 공시 빈도가 높은 그룹과 낮은 그룹으로 하여 총 8개의 그룹으로 분석하였다. 결과적으로 특허 공시 빈도가 높은 벤처기업부와 중견기업부 그룹에서 특허 공시에 대한 시장의 (-)음의 반응을 확인했다. 이는 시장이 특허 공시의 남용에 대하여 반응하였다고 해석된다. 또한 빈도가 높은 기술 성장 기업 그룹의 경우 다른 모든 그룹에 비해 높은 (+)양의 특허 공시 효과를 보였다. 이에 본 그룹에 대해서 추가 분석을 진행하였으며 특허 공시 빈도가 공시 효과와 양의 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였으며 개발비 지출은 특허 공시 효과는 음의 상관 관계가 있었다. 기술성장기업의 기업가치가 특허 공시 빈도에 영향을 받으며 소요되는 개발 비용을 기업의 무형 자산으로 인식하기 보다는 비용의 측면에서 인식하는 것이 더 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
