In this thesis, an intelligent Hangul terminal is designed and actually implemented using an MCS-85 microcomputer system.
A 15-bit Hangul internal code is used which permits simplicity in decoding.
In this system, all of the Hangul characters are formalized into 6 forms which are detected by using the vowel code. Hangul images are displayed by the Form detector and the Character generator.
These provide natural display of Hangul. The processor for this terminal is capable of doing various intelligent functions. This is possible by allowing the processor to access the display memory, the cursor register, and the video starting address register.
For the implementation of the intelligent Hangul terminal, an HRD-15 series CRT manufactured by CPT CO. was used.
