In the process flexibility literature, the flexibility structure, which has an ability to deal with demand and capacity uncertainty, has been studied by many researchers. As the interests of the researchers have expanded to broader supply chain context from single production system context, allocating issue of manufactured products to the market has been included in the study of process flexibility. So, logistics flexibility has been considered as one important factor of flexibility consideration. However, logistics cost which necessarily incurs during the operations and is affected by the flexible supply chain structure has been out of considera-tion of supply chain flexibility researchers so far. In this research, importance of logistics cost consideration in the flexible supply chain structure for process flexibility is shown by the simulation study.
기업들은 불확실성에 대응하는 방안으로 유연성을 확보할 수 있는 기술에 투자한다. 그 동안 많은 연구자들에 의해, 이 “유연성 기술”을 더 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 “유연성구조”를 찾는 연구가 진행되었다. 이 유연성구조가 Supply Chain의 범위로 확대되었을 때, Supply Chain 주체간의 물류활동이 이루어 지게 된다. 그 동안의 연구들에서는 물류비용이 유연성구조와 상관없이 발생하는 별개의 비용으로 간주되어 고려되지 않았다. 이 연구에서는 유연성의 정도에 따라 유연성구조가 발생시키는 물류비용이 달라지게 된다는 점 시뮬레이션을 통해 밝히고, 유연성구조 의사결정시 물류비용이 중요하게 고려되어야 한다는 점을 보였다. 또한 혼다의 2012년 실제 데이터를 기반으로 현실에서도 본 연구의 논의가 적용됨을 확인하였다.
