Some students need educational support in form of encouragement, compliment, and inducement of interest. In South Korea, educational gap between rich and poor is increasing as students whose family are in econom-ic difficulty cannot receive private education. This gap makes students in poor family lose interest and confi-dence in studying because they hardly get educational support. For example, sometimes no one encourages or motivates them when they get poor grades in school because their parents are busy and school teacher should care lots of students in a class. Although plenty of researches and services about e-learning and m-learning provide students in need with educational contents, methods, and environment, few researches allow the students to get educational support. In this paper, we propose a mobile-powered social collaborative framework that gives educational support to students in need through 1:1 mobile class. This framework spon-taneously works with correspondent teachers and students in need whenever they want in real life. To this end, we design a request-based scheduling and student’s choice based tree dialogue. The request-based scheduling stimulates correspondent teachers and students to initiate a class through mobile push notifica-tion. The student’s choice based tree dialogue that is selective English dialogue makes correspondent teachers to easily lead a class and excite students. We examine the potential of a mobile-powered social collaborative framework and effect of two key features with two initial experiments. Finally, we describe future design spaces and lessons from this study.
학생들은 용기부여, 칭찬, 그리고 흥미 유발과 같은 교육적인 도움을 필요로 한다. 한국에서 가정형편이 어려운 학생들이 사교육을 받지 못함으로 인해 빈부격차가 날로 증가하고 있다. 이런 환경에서 가정형편이 어려운 학생들이 교육적 지원을 받기 어렵기 때문에, 때때로 공부에 대한 흥미를 놓치는 경우가 많이 생긴다. 비록 e-learning과 m-learning에 대한 많은 수의 연구와 서비스들이 도움이 필요한 학생들에게 교육적 컨텐츠와, 방법을 제공하고 있지만, 학생들에게 칭찬과 동기부여와 같은 교육적 지원을 주는 것들은 거의 없다. 이 논문에서 우리는 학생들에게 이러한 교육적 지원을 줄 수 있는 사회 협력적 모바일 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 이 프레임워크에서는 비전문가 선생님들과 학생들의 자발적인 참여로 교육이 이루어진다. 이를 위해서 우리는 요청 기반 스케쥴링과 학생 선택 기반 트리 다이얼로그를 새롭게 디자인하였다. 요청 기반 스케쥴링 방식은 비전문가 선생님들과 학생들이 모바일 어플리케이션을 통한 수업 요청을 증진시킨다. 또한 학생 선택 기반 트리 아이럴로그는 학생들이 대답하고 싶은 영어문장을 선택할 수 있게 함으로써 선생님들이 수업을 쉽게 이끌어나갈 수 있도록 하며 학생들이 재미있게 영어공부를 할 수 있도록 만든다. 우리는 사회 협력적 모바일 프레임워크와 두 가지 새롭게 만든 기능들의 가능성을 조사해보기 위해 2가지 초기 실험을 진행하였다. 마지막으로 2가지 실험에서 얻은 교훈과 앞으로의 연구방향에 대해 논의한다.
