The business continuity industry reported that approximately 100 companies declared disasters in the wake of the attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade center. In the 1980s, the business continuity market focused on IT disaster recovery. Now, traditional approaches to systems availability have morphed to include addressing customer need for multivendor integrated-stack solutions within fast-moving 24×7 globalized infrastructure.
This study focuses on a difference between the BCP and the DRP. Many people who work in the security industry are confusing a difference between the BCP and the DRP. Although they are different to the terms and purpose, they are similar to the means and tools used. A data is stored to back-up center to preserve the information continuously and restored from the back-up to provide the service continuity in a similar way.
This study explores a difference between the BCP and the DRP through the process and priority analysis and the scope definition. This study also suggests the integration method in the BCP and the DRP planning. This result can assist the person who works in this area to understand a difference between the BCP and the DRP clearly and to manage plan.
사업연속성 관련 약 100개 기업이 미국방성과 세계무역센터가 공격을 받을 당시에 재난을 선포하였다. 1980년대에 사업연속성 관련 시장은 IT의 재난 복구에 중점을 두었다. 이제는 시스템의 가용성에 접근하는 전통적인 방법에 있어서, 고객들이 상시로 전세계에서 운영되는 다양한 벤더들의 제품이 융합되는 것을 요구하고 있다.
본 논문은 BCP와 BRP의 차이점에 중점을 두고 있다. 국내 보안산업에서 업무를 하고 있는 많은 담당자들은 BCP와 DRP의 차이점에 혼동을 하고 있으며, 명확히 이해를 하지 못해서 해외 사업자에게 컨설팅을 받는 데에 있어서도 어려움을 겪고 있다. 용어와 목적에 있어서 두 가지 방법이 다르지만, 구현방법과 사용하는 방법이 비슷하기 때문이다. 데이터가 중단되는 상황을 막기 위해 센터에 저장하고, 필요할 때 비슷한 방법으로 복구를 하기 때문이다.
본 논문은 방법, 우선순위 선정방법, 범위를 통하여 BCP와 DRP간의 차이점을 연구하였다. 또한, 융합과 선택을 올바르게 하는 방법을 제시하였다. 그래서, 본 논문이 BCP와 DRP를 명쾌하게 이해하고 계획을 수립하는 데 도움이 될 수 있길 바란다.
