It is not possible to exchange parametric information of CAD models based on the current version of STEP(Standard for the Exchange of Product model data) standard. The design intent can be lost during the STEP transfer of CAD models.
The ISO Parametrics Group has proposed the SMCH(Solid Model Construction History) schema that includes structures for exchange of parametric information in June 2000.
This thesis proposes a macro parametric approach that is intended to provide capabilities to transfer parametric information. In this approach, CAD models are exchanged in the form of macro files. The macro file contains modeling commands which are used in the modeling phase.
To exchange CAD models using the macro parametric approach, modeling commands of commercial CAD systems are surveyed. Those commands are classified by the grouping method suggested by Bill Anderson. As a neutral file format, a standard modeling commands set has been defined. Mapping relations between the standard modeling commands set and the modeling commands set of commercial CAD systems are defined.
현재의 제품 데이터 교환에 관한 ISO 표준인 STEP(Standard for the Exchange of Product model data)은 이 파라메트릭 정보를 전달 할 수 없어 서로 다른 CAD 시스템 사이에서 STEP을 이용하여 데이터 교환을 할 경우 설계자의 의도가 손실되는 문제점이 있다.
위와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위하여 STEP 파라메트릭스 그룹은 SMCH(Solid Model Construction History) 스키마를 제안하였다.
본 논문에서는 설계자가 제품을 설계하면서 실행한 모델링 명령어를 기록한 매크로 파일을 이용하여 서로 다른 CAD 시스템 사이에서 파라메트릭 정보를 전달하는 매크로 파라메트릭 방법론을 제안하였다.
매크로 파일을 이용한 데이터 교환을 하기 위해서 각 CAD 시스템들의 모델링 명령어를 그룹핑 한 후 표준 모델링 명령어 집합을 정의하였다. 그리고 각CAD 시스템의 모델링 명령어 집합과 표준 모델링 명령어 집합과의 매핑 관계를 정의하였다.
