The FCCU (Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit) has long been the target for application of new control strategy or optimization study, because it has highly complicated interaction among the variables As a whole, most refineries are setting up the operating mode empirically not theoretically. LG-Caltex dynamic simulation model was developed in this thesis for the purpose of establishing the basis for advanced control and optimization study. In this thesis, the dynamic model for LG-Caltex RFCCU was developed by programming 14 ODEs and 248 AEs based on mass balance and energy balance. The real data and control scheme of running plant were reflected. The simulation results show rapid stabilization and similar trend when they are compared with the plant data.
