Due to the influence of e-commerce, the delivery industry has shown rapid growth since the 2000s, and customer requirements for delivery and logistics services are increasing. In order to respond to this, the domestic delivery industry system has been improved both quantitatively and qualitatively and demand-oriented advancement and efficiency are needed. Because of COVID-19, the transition to a non-face-to-face consumer society has been accelerated, and the need for a subdivided urban logistics policy centered on courier delivery, a life-friendly last-mile logistics service, has also been raised. This study goes beyond the stage of demand prediction for and attempts to decipher the relationship of demand by region and product characteristics using the social network analysis (SNA). By expanding the Market Basket Network (MBN) and the Co-purchased Product Network (CPN), which have been frequently used to identify demand in e-commerce, our analysis reveals the product category patterns in the number of delivery orders data and confirms regional differences. This study shows that SNA technique can be effectively applied to inventory distribution or product (SKU) selection strategies in urban logistics.
