The average return on delta hedged KOSPI200 options is hight at –0.56% per day. As a result of observing the intraday and overnight option returns, this study confirms that the intraday option return has a positive value of 0.43% per day, and the overnight option return has a negative vaue of –1.00%. To explain the difference between the day and night KOSPI200 option returns, we set up and verify four hypotheses concerning volatility bias, maturity bias, demand pressure, and discretization bias suggested by Muravyev and Ni(2020). In particular, the volatility bias stating that the price of options does not reflect the fact that the stock volatility is higher intraday than overnight, passes all tests.
