A MIS researcher wanted to show the fact that MIS approach could contribute to not only enterprise, but also art performance.
In order to celebrate the 68th anniversary of Mapo Church, there was a performance of Mendelssohn's Oratorio 'Elijah'. Following were demanded to the MIS researcher.
1) Various requirements of the interest group related to the performance should be well reflected in the planning process.
2) Information should be delivered openly among people who were prepared for the performance.
3) In the actual performance, various performance information should help the audience understand and appreciate better.
4) Through the efforts of the diffusion, new idea and trials of the performance should be accepted by people in Mapo Church without resistance.
To satisfy the requirements above, the following steps were taken.
First, King's 'MIS Strategic Planning Process' was applied to the 'Performance Strategic Planning Process', so that the requirements of the interest group could be reflected in the actual performance planning.
Second, IDPD(Information Delivery Process Diagram), a structured and diagrammatic analysis design technique, was developed and used to express the information delivery process in the performance.
Third, principles, which should be kept in the information delivery process to the human being, were identified as criteria to estimate information delivery process.
Fourth, desirable information delivery processes for preparing process and actual performance were implemented by those principles.
Fifth, Rogers' diffusion theory was introduced to diffuse to the people in Mapo Church.
Lastly, the results of the performance was analyzed by a survey.
The results of the survey proved that the efforts above contributed to the success of performance: therefore, we found out the fact that MIS approach could contribute to not only enterprise, but also performance. It is expected that thus experience will be also applied to planning, Implementation and diffusion for other performances.
정보시스템이 기업의 생산, 영업, 마케팅 분야 등에는 많이 활용되어 왔으나 음악, 미술 등의 예술, 문화분야에는 비교적 덜 소개된 감이 있는 상황에서 '오라토리오'라는 공연예술에 정보전달과정의 관점에서 여러가지 원칙, 방법론 및 실제 구현을 시도하고자 한다.
마포교회에서는 68주년 창립기념음악회로 멘델스존의 오라토리오 '엘리야' 를 공연하려고 한다. 경영정보학연구자인 기획자에게 다음과 같은 요구가 전달되었다.
1) 공연 관련된 이해조직(interest group)의 다양한 요구를 계획수립과정에서 잘 반영해야만 한다. 2) 음악공연을 위한 준비과정 중에 여러 공연준비주체들간의 다양한 정보전달이 원활하게 일어날 수 있게 하여야 한다. 3) 음악공연 중의 음악정보를 관객들에게 잘 전달하여 관객들이 공연을 잘 이해하고 예술적인 감동을 느낄 수 있게 하여야 한다. 4) 확산노력을 통하여, 기획된 공연에 대한 새로운 아이디어와 시도들이 교회의 조직원들에게 저항없이 수용될 수 있게 하여야 한다.
기획자에게 주어진 위의 요구들을 충족시키기 위해 첫째, King 의 전략적 MIS 계획수립과정을 '오라토리오' 공연 계획수립과정에 응용하여 조직의 요구사항들이 실제 공연에 구현에 반영될 수 있도록 했다. 둘째, 음악회에서의 정보전달과정을 표현할, 구조적 시스템분석기법이며 도해적인 도구인 '정보전달과정도 : IDPD(Information Delivery Process Diagram)'를 개발하여 실제 공연에 적용했다. 셋째, '인간'에게 정보를 전달하는 과정에서 지켜야할 원칙을 규명하였다. 넷째, 원칙을 효과적인 공연준비와 공연구현을 위한 잣대로 사용하여 공연준비과정과 실제 공연을 구현하였다. 다섯째, 새로운 아이디어와 전파에 대한 이론으로서는 일반이론으로 인식되고 있는 로저스의 확산이론을 도입하여 새로운 형태의 음악공연을 조직에 확산시켰다. 그리고 설문조사를 통하여 평가를 했다.
설문조사결과 위의 노력들이 공연의 성공에 기여하였음이 입증되었다. 따라서, 경영정보학적 접근방법이 기업에서 뿐만 아니라 예술공연을 위해서도 유용히 사용될 수 있는 가능성을 입증하였다. 앞으로 다른 공연들의 계획, 구현, 확산에 있어서 이 논문이 기여하게 되기를 바란다.
