The solubilities of carbon dioxide in aqueous mixtures of alkanolamine were measured at 40, 60 and 80℃. The partial pressure of carbon dioxide ranged from 10 to 300 kPa, which covered both the absorption and desorption process condition. The selected alkanolamine mixtures consisted of DEA(Diethanolamine) and AMP(2-Amino-2-Methyl-1-Propanol). DEA is conventional alkanolamine and AMP is sterically hindered amine. The concentration range of the amines studied varied from 6 to 30% for each amine, but the total amine concentration was maintained at 30wt%. The liquid phase composition was measured by titration, and gas chromatography was used for gas phase analysis.
