Automatic identification system of moving objects has recently received a great deal of concern owing to its possible application to industrial, transportational and managing areas. There has been several schemes developed for this purpose. For example, RFID(radio frequency ID) and infrared barcode system has been developed or has been already in commercial use.
In this thesis, the efficient design and implementation of automatic identification system of moving objects using RFID is presented. Common digital transmission schemes such as ASK and DPSK are used between a interogater and a responder taking into the efficiency and power-saving capability. Synchronization is elaborately considered because it affects severely the error rate of identification. The CRC-16 is used for error detection and correction. The interogater board uses TMS320C40 as a main processor and controller. All source code for this system is written using assembly language for the purpose of program optimization. Experimental data which were achieved by field test are included to show the performance of this system.
