During recent years the concern about human beings has been proposed in various parts of our life and has been tried to do good for human life. Design is a kind of project and trial which satisfy human beings' needs to the environments and things.
Most of all, human factors can accommodate the needs of users, so the significance of concept of human factors considerably has been increased. Human factors has become an important part and the most essential point in modern design. For embodying human factors in design, it is necessary to develop new process and approach methods which can be adopted in design process.
In these backgrounds, the objectives of this study are set as follows:
ㆍ To understand the characteristics and the approach process of human factors in design.
ㆍ To set up the basic system of approaching to human factors in design process.
ㆍ To develop the schematic model which designers can apply in design process.
This study starts by discussing the background, the objectives and the scope of the study. Then the theoretical body of knowledge on human factors in design process has been studied through the course of documentary surveys for understanding the concept of human factors. Based on the concepts of study, the basic system of approaching to human factors has been set up and the schematic model has been developed. This study proposes a series of worksheet as a schematic model for human factors. It is followed by the case study using proposed worksheets, which has been identified the schematic model's validity. Finally results of this study are summarized and further study is outlined.
