A choice-based multigeneration diffusion model is developed. Consumers purchase new products when it is utilized. Growth of new products is explained by consumer choice behavior. Extensively, both diffusion and substitution of succesive generations of high-technology products are explained by consumer choice behavior. Norton & Bass(1987) misapplied their model to world semiconductor market. Applying our model to world DRAM market, we demonstrate good properties of our model.
