In this thesis, we compare the performance of time-series factor models with that of cross-section factor models. Fama and French (2020) propose cross-section factor models, where cross-section factors are constructed using the coefficients of the independent variables in the Fama-MacBeth cross-sectional regressions. Unlike the evidence documented in the US stock market, this thesis shows that the performance of cross-section factor models is worse than that of time-series factor models in accounting for anomaly portfolio returns in the Korean stock market. To evaluate the performance of each model, GRS statistics, Hotelling T2, equal-weight matrix, and measures of regression fit are used.
