In February 2020, even a year after the World Health Organization(WHO) decided to name the new coronavirus'COVID-19', the 'pandemic' situation still persists. As the pandemic has an impact regardless of region, religion, age, or gender, a major change is expected in Koreans' perceptions, values, and behavior patterns. This study focuses on the “period effect” of COVID-19 and is expected to have a strong impact on all generations. It is distinct from the previous studies that emphasized the influence of adolescence (ages 17-26). In the survey to examine changes in values before and after COVID-19, there were significant changes in values related to COVID-19, such as social order and discipline, group dependency in decision making, awareness of infectious disease concerns, and safety. Tems with significant changes in values were united in the direction of change, and there was little or no gap between generations, resulting in homogeneous values. Considering the large change in values and the large decrease in the gap between generations in the technology field, “technology” is viewed as a key driver of social change. Contrary to the general idea that the heterogeneity of values would have become rather serious, the gap between generations has narrowed, except in the political field.
