Biopharmaceuticals, especially antibody-based protein medicines, are widely applied in the treatment of diseases. The global biopharmaceutical market is growing rapidly, surpassing the growth rate of the synthetic medicine market. As the market for biopharmaceuticals develops and demand grows, the production of biopharmaceuticals and the protection of technology have become essential. However, the development stage is still in its early stages. Many pharmaceutical companies are working in a single institution, from raw materials to finished products. This paper is intended to diagnose problems that may arise from the selection of existing cell lines, culture, purification and validation in one institution. Also, here proposes the efficiency of the outsourcing of each step and suggests ease of technology protection. The modern medicines market has been revitalized, and outsourcing has been used mainly in the course of severe bioequivalence experiments. Each production process of biopharmaceuticals also requires highly specialized technology, and this outsourcing strategy will significantly contribute to industrial development by improving the expertise. Also, from the viewpoint of intellectual property protection, systematic protection will be possible by owning a portfolio of various subjects.
바이오의약의 발전은 기존에 합성의약이 해결할 수 없었던 질병에 도전할 수 있는 기회를 제공하였다. 바이오의약은 특히 항체기반의 단백질 의약이 질병치료에 많이 적용되고 있다. 세계적으로 바이오의약 시장은 합성의약 시장의 증가속도를 추월하여 빠르게 성장하고 있다. 이러한 바이오의약 시장이 발전하고 수요가 증가함에 따라 바이오의약의 생산과 기술의 보호가 중요하게 되었고 아직 그 발전단계가 초기단계에 머물러 있다. 여기서 많은 제약업계는 원료부터 완제까지 하나의 기관에서 수행하고 있다. 본 논문은 기존의 세포주 선별부터 배양, 정제 및 밸리데이션까지 하나의 기관에서 수행할 경우 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 진단하고, 각 단계를 아웃소싱할 경우 얻을 수 있는 생산효율성을 제시하고 기술보호의 용이성을 제시하고자 한다. 또한 합성의약시장과 다른 R&D의 높은 효율성을 위해 어떠한 전략을 취해야 하는지 제시하고자 한다. 아웃소싱은 기존에 의약품시장이 활성화되고 까다로운 생동성실험 과정에서 주로 활용되었다. 바이오의약의 각 생산과정 역시 고도의 전문화된 기술이 필요한 바, 이러한 아웃소싱 전략이 전문성을 향상시켜 산업발전에 크게 이바지할 것이다. 또한 기술보호의 관점에서 하나의 주체가 다양한 포트폴리오를 소유함으로써 체계적인 보호가 가능할 것이다.
