In a disaster situation such as an earthquake, building collapse causes severe damages to both people and property. To rescue the buried persons in the scene of accident, it requires a lot of manpower and time. Moreover, secondary damage can occur during the rescue operation by additional collapses. Currently technologies that utilize images, sounds and radio signals are mainly used to detect buried victims in disaster situation, However, they still require close access to the collapse site because the detection range of them is limited to small area. Because a rescuer has to get around a wide disaster scene while detecting victims, there is a difficulty in finding the buried victims by missing Golden Time. To solve this problem, in this paper we propose a stochastic method to estimate the location of buried persons in collapsing area using Wi-Fi signals. We assume that every victim in the disaster site has a smartphone. The method utilize only a few number of Mobile Wi-Fi access points (AP) to make it available to detect victims’ Wi-Fi signals in disaster situations. Our method can contribute to life protection technologies by providing the locations of buried persons for a quick rescue in case of a disaster.
지진과 같은 재난상황에서는, 건물의 붕괴로 인해 사람과 재산 모두 큰 손해를 입게 된다. 재난 현장에서 매몰된 사람들의 구출 작업은 많은 인력과 시간을 소요한다. 더욱이, 추가적 붕괴로 인해 구조 작업중 2차피해를 입을 수도 있다. 현재 매몰자 구출에 이용되는 기술들은 이미지, 소리, 또는 무선신호를 주로 사용한다. 그러나 해당 기술들은 제한된 탐지 거리로 인해 여전히 구출자로 하여금 재난 현장에 접근하도록 요구한다. 구조자는 희생자가 있을만한 재난 현장근처를 주먹구구식으로 돌아다니며 탐색하기 때문에 소위 말하는 골든 타임을 놓치는 등 구조에 어려움을 겪기도 한다. 이러한 문제를 풀기위해서 이 논문에서는 붕괴 현장에서 와이파이 신호를 이용한 확률론적 매몰자 탐지 방법을 제안한다. 희생자는 스마트폰을 소지하고 있다고 가정한다. 제안된 방법은 소수의 휴대용 무선랜 신호 발생기만을 이용하여 매몰자를 탐지한다. 본 연구는 재난 상황에서의 빠른 매몰자 구조를 위한 탐지방법을 제공함으로써 생명 보호 기술에 기여한다.
