With the accumulation of digitalized narrative data, the quantitative research methodology of narrative structure becomes important. There have been attempts to understand the interaction of characters in narratives based on social network concepts, but such research has not gained sufficient depth. In this research, we analyze the relationship of characters in movie scripts from the viewpoint of co-appearance and sentiments based on numerical measures derived from statistical models. In addition, by applying the cluster analysis method, the stricter of character communities and sentimental relationship between communities are extracted. We expect that our methodology will be the basis for enabling comparison between the narrative and obtaining high-level features of the narrative.
디지털화된 서사 자료가 축적되면서 서사 구조에 대한 정량적인 연구 방법론의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 사회 연결망을 바탕으로 서사에 등장하는 인물들의 상호작용에 대해 이해하려는 시도들이 있었지만, 아직 기초적인 수준에 머물러있다. 본 연구에서는 영화 스크립트에 나타나는 인물들의 동시 등장과 감정에 대한 관계를 나타내는 정량적인 지표를 제시한다. 또한, 군집 분석 방법을 적용하여 인물 군집 구조를 파악하고 군집 간 감정 관계를 분석한다. 우리의 방법론이 서사 간의 비교를 가능하게 하고 서사의 고수준 특징을 얻을 수 있게 하는 밑바탕이 될 것이라고 기대한다.
