This research analyses the effect of interest rate uncertainty on Korean economy in terms of domestic total investment, and the decision making of domestic financial institutions about interest rate uncertainty. This research shows that there exists a negative relationship between Korean domestic total investment and interest rate uncertainty even after controlling the effect of observable Economic Policy Uncertainty, Financial and Macroeconomic Factors. We have also found that Korean Financial Corporates take fixed-receive position when using Interest Rate Swaps to control the interest rate uncertainty. According to the result of three-quantile analysis, the ratio of Interest Rate Swaps usage tends to be higher of the firms with high loan ratio and business scale, but tends to be lower with high price book-value ratio, cash ratio and return on equity.
본 연구에서는 이자율 불확실성이 한국의 거시경제에 미치는 영향을 국내총투자를 중심으로 살펴보고, 국내 금융기관들의 이자율 불확실성에 대한 의사결정을 살펴보았다. 결론적으로 이자율 불확실성은 국내총투자와 유의미한 부의 관계를 보이는데, 이러한 관계는 정치경제적 불확실성, 재무적요인과 거시경제요인들을 통제한 뒤에도 여전히 유의미하였다. 또한 국내 금융기관들은 이자율 불확실성에 대해 변동금리를 수취하고 고정금리를 지급하는 방식으로 이자율스왑을 사용한다는 것을 확인하였다. 3분위 분석을 통해 살펴본 결과 총 부채 대비 이자율스왑 사용규모는 해당 금융기관의 차입금비율이 높고, 기업규모가 클수록 커지고, 현금성자산비율, 주가순자산비율, 자기자본수익률이 높을수록 작아진다는 것을 확인하였다.
