South Korea has grown rapidly over a short-term period, but it still has some way to go in the aspect of cultural universality. In order to take a step forward, it is necessary to foster an atmosphere that makes it easier for the public to access cultural organizations. Changes must also be made in the supply side. This paper intends to explore tactics art museums should adopt in order to survive over a longer period, and ultimately contribute to the development of culture which is also key to social change. In addition, this thesis will look specifically into the case of a `single artist' museum. Unlike many other art museums that display the works of multiple artists, a `single artist museum' which features the life and art work of a sole artist, requires a differentiated operational strategy. This paper aims to derive the key strategic solution for such organizations.
대한민국은 단기간에 비약적인 산업발전을 이루었으나, 사회변화 단계 중 문화적인 측면에서는 좀 더 보편성을 가질 수 있도록 발전해야 할 부분이 많다. 이러한 발전을 위해서는 더 많은 사람들이 문화 기관에 손쉽게 접근하는 분위기가 조성되어야 한다. 또한 공급자 측면에서도 변화가 필요하다. 산업구조상 공급자가 어떠한 운영전략을 가져갔을 때 미술관이 장기적으로 생존하고, 사회 변화단계의 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있는 문화발전에 기여할 수 있는지를 이 글을 통해 서술하고자 한다. 아울러 좀 더 세분화 된 형태로 1인의 작가를 집중 조명하는 작가미술관의 운영전략을 살펴보면서 운영전략을 구체화하고자 한다. 여러 작가를 다루는 일반적인 미술관과는 다르게, 작가 1인의 삶과 예술을 집중 조명한다는 점에서 작가미술관의 경우 차별화된 운영 전략이 필요하다. 작가미술관이 항구적으로 가지고 가야할 전략의 핵심이 어디에 있는지 이 글을 통해 도출하고자 한다.
