In this thesis, a numerical model for the dynamic nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete (RC) beams and columns subjected to blast loadings is introduced on the basis of the moment-curvature relationship. The behavior of concrete and reinforcing steel in high strain rate is different from the behavior in quasi-static state. In general, the dynamic increase factor(DIF) is defined in the stress-strain relations of materials. A DIF equation for RC sections is newly constructed to simulate nonlinear behavior of RC members based on the moment-curvature relationship. The strength of RC members is overestimated in perfect bond assumption. Therefore, the moment-curvature relationship is modified considering the bond-slip effect. When an RC structure is exposed to the blast loading with extremely high pressure and short duration, the direct shear failure occurs near supports before the flexural failure. The shear stress-slip relationship from experimental data is implemented to describe the direct shear behavior in this paper. Correlation studies between numerical results and experimental data are conducted to establish the validity of the introduced numerical model. Finally, the resisting capacity of an RC members according to the variation of the axial force and section geometries is compared using the pressure-impulse (P-I) diagram.
