52-week high prices are widely used as an indicator to identify the stock’s current price level. Furthermore, it is also used as a signal to buy or sell stocks. From several past studies suggested that stocks with prices close to their past 52-week high prices earn high future returns (PTH anomaly). In this thesis, PTH anomalies in the Korean stock market have been studied. The q-factor model has been used to analyze whether it captures the PTH anomaly. However, the q-factor model fails to capture the PTH anomaly in the Korean stock maker and its performance is not better than other factor model in capturing the PTH anomalies.
