Even though stock prices are higher than past prices, they do not provide fundamental information, but they play an important role in fixing investor expectations about stock performance. Using fifty-two week highs of stocks and historical highs, this research will investigate the impact between the proximity of this price peak and short seller's trading behavior in the Korean stock market from 2005 to 2017. It seems that short selling is negatively associated with a level close to the fifty-two week highs and positively related to a level close to the historical highs. This means that short sellers can take advantage of other investors’ behavioral biases.
