The study tried to figure out what kind of news value people prefer to in mobile news use environment, and then suggest the future direction of the old media which in crisis.
Results of analysis of shared news said the people preferred the value of interest, timeliness, sympathy, and information(usefulness). However, it is hard to find good quality of informative news in the a lot of digital news, this is because most of news supplier(old media) can not make the investment cost for content quality in this skewed ecosystem. As long as the portal site have concentrated power of news distribution, news supplier think that it's cheaper and more effective to focus on the mass production of low-quality news(such as 'abusing') than to invest in making high quality news. To create an great ecosystem of mobile media, where quality news content is produced, it needs an appropriate reward system for quality news not for popular news.
본 연구는 모바일 뉴스 이용이 언론 활동의 핵심이 된 현대 사회에서 뉴스 이용자들의 뉴스 소비가 어떤 뉴스 가치를 중심으로 이뤄지고 있는지를 전반적으로 살펴 기존 언론들이 나아갈 방향에 대해 고찰했다. 모바일 환경에서 발견되는 뉴스 소비 형태 가운데 가장 적극적인 참여 행위인 ‘SNS공유’활동에 초점을 맞춰 연구를 진행했고, 그 결과 모바일 뉴스 이용자들이 흥미성, 시의성, 공감성, 정보성(유용성) 가치를 중심으로 뉴스를 소비한다는 사실을 확인했다. 하지만 뉴스 공급의 측면에서 양질의 정보성(유용성) 뉴스는 쉽게 발견하기 어려운데 이는 포털을 중심으로 구축된 언론 생태계가 콘텐츠 질을 위한 투자비용은 높이면서도 결과물(보상)은 확신할 수 없는 상태로 만들기 때문으로 보인다. 유통 권력이 포털에 집중된 상황에서 아무리 양질의 결과물을 내놓아도 성공할 수 없다는 확신이 기성 언론들의 변화를 주저하게 만들고 어뷰징 등 저품질 뉴스 양산에 매달리게 하는 것이다. 양질의 뉴스 콘텐츠가 많이 제작되는 모바일 언론 생태계가 조성되려면 기존 포털-언론이 구축하고 있던‘조회 수’기반 보상 체계뿐 아니라 ‘공유’등 진지하게 소비되는 개별 뉴스에 대한 별도의 보상이 필요하다는 결론이다.
