The block chain is a database with two characteristics of decentralization and irreversibility. Recently, it has been applied to various fields such as politics and society while becoming a base system of cryptographic and cryptographic economics. This study aims to analyze whether the block chain is applicable to the news media platform. In-depth interviews are conducted to investigate whether or not to overcome the shortcomings of the existing newsroom by implementing decision-making structures based on consensus using irreversibility and decentralization, which are characteristic of block chains. It will also be examined through a case study of new media startup based on blockchain which is advocating journalism.
블록체인은 탈중앙화, 비가역성이라는 두가지 특성을 가진 데이터베이스로 최근 암호화폐, 암호 경제의 기반 시스템으로 자리잡으면서 정치, 사회 등 다양한 분야로의 적용이 시도되고 있다. 본 연구는 플랫폼으로 발전하는 블록체인이 뉴스 미디어 플랫폼에 적용될 가능성이 있는지 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 블록체인의 특징인 비가역성과 탈중앙화를 이용해 합의에 따른 의사결정 구조를 구현함으로써 기존 뉴스룸의 단점을 보완할 수 있는지 여부를 심층 인터뷰를 통해 연구한다. 또 저널리즘을 표방한 블록체인 기반 신생 미디어 스타트업의 사례 분석을 통해 살펴볼 예정이다.
