This paper defines the future consciousness of the researchers on science & technology with broadly and constructs its six sub factor(time length, level of interest, optimism, influence, expectation, values) in the 'Futures studies' context. And I try to prove the attributes of it and causal relationship with their R&D outputs by the methods of the survey to researchers and comparative analysis of their research papers' data. In consequence, there are differences of their future consciousness by researchers' classification, fields of study etc. And I find the causal relationship partly between the researchers’ future consciousness and their performances like research papers' quality and quantity. So I prove the researchers' claim objectively that they need time in order to get excellent outputs, and I get to know that it is important to understand science & technology researchers' diverse motivation, autonomy deeply in order to support them successfully by national R&D funds.
과학기술자가 가진 미래에 대한 의식을 미래연구적 관점에서 보다 폭 넓게 정의하고 여섯 가지 미래의식의 하위요소(시간의 길이, 관심의 수준, 낙관주의, 영향, 기대, 가치)에 따른 특성과 함께 성과와의 관계를 실증하고자 했다. 이를 위해 국가연구개발 기초연구 과제를 수행하는 연구책임자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 대학연구활동실태조사를 통해서 파악된 해당 연구자의 국제학술지(SCI) 논문 성과와 비교분석 하였다. 그 결과 직급, 연구 분야 등의 여러 요인에 의해서 연구자의 미래의식에 차이가 있었으며, 미래의식에 따라서 논문 성과와의 인과관계가 일정 부분 확인되었다. 이를 통해, 우수성과 창출을 위해서는 장기적 관점에서의 지원이 필요하다는 연구자들의 주장에 객관적인 논거를 제공할 수 있게 되었으며, 나아가 다양한 측면에서 연구자를 이해하고 그들이 장기적이고 폭 넓은 안목을 갖고 미래지향적인 연구에 매진할 수 있도록 지원해야 함을 알 수 있었다.
