In this research, we explain the generation formation from a universal pluralism point of view. Although it is not the first attempt to discuss the formation process of the generation from the evolutionary point of view, the content discussed at the evolution level of the generation is limited only to the collective level and it lacks concreteness in comparison with an explanation of the formation of generations at the genetic level. The minimum unit of household formation corresponding to genes for explaining the generation formation is necessary. In this study, we assume the feature of the generation - meme complex, and argued that generation of world view is formed by replication and diffusion of the meme complex. In addition, it seemed that typical characteristic of generations and latent ones complexly exist, and conditional generation effects are generated by latent characteristic of generations. Such a process can be called entelechy. As a result, the position of the Mannheim generation persuasively presented the concrete mechanism that will be the actual generation. Finally, we analyzed the evolution of the generation characteristics - meme complex from a cyclical point of view and looked at social change in 2030.
본 연구는 보편적 다원주의적 관점에서 세대형성을 설명한다. 진화론적 관점으로 세대의 형성 과정을 논의했던 시도가 처음은 아니지만, 세대의 진화 수준에서 논의된 내용은 집단적 수준에 한정 될 수밖에 없으며, 유전자 수준에서 세대형성을 설명하는 것에 비해 구체성이 부족하다. 세대의 형성을 설명하기 위해서 유전자에 해당하는 세대 형성의 최소 단위가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 세대특성-밈 복합체(Meme Complex)를 가정하였으며, 밈 복합체의 복제와 확산을 통해 세대 별 세계관이 형성된다고 주장하였다. 또한, 세대의 대표적인 특성과 잠재되어 있는 특성이 복합적으로 존재하며, 잠재되어 있는 세대특성을 통해 조건적 세대효과가 발생한다고 보았다. 이러한 과정을 엔텔레키(entelechy)라고 부를 수 있다. 이를 통해 만하임의 세대위치가 실제세대가 되는 구체적인 메커니즘을 설득력 있게 제시하였다. 마지막으로 순환적 관점에서 세대특성-밈복합체의 진화를 해석하여 2030년의 사회변화를 조망하였다.
