This study examines the present and future of entertainment news through the current status and trend of the exclusive article. A complete enumeration survey was conducted regarding the exclusive articles among the entertainment news for a certain period of time. As a result, it was discovered that the exclusive articles were exposed to the main page 4.6 times more than general articles. The survey on the number of occurrence sorted by the media companies showed that the exclusive articles were intensively generated by a few entertainment media, among them were the companies with a significantly higher exposure rate on the main page. Through the analysis of the quantity and proportion of articles by topic, it was found that articles on a specific subject occupied more than half of the total articles. Results regarding the citation coverage revealed that the exclusive articles were not frequently quoted. The in-depth interviews revealed that the flood of exclusive articles is a structural problem, not a temporary phenomenon. The diversity of media is being hindered by the expansion of portal journalism. If the structural problems are not solved, the vicious cycle of competition to occupy the main page will be repeated in other form if not an exclusive article. In order to solve the structural problems, it is necessary to improve the poor working conditions, and enforce technical and ethical education. In addition, it was agreed that social responsibility should be systematically imposed to the portal companies, so as to fulfill its social role as a member of journalism.
단독 기사의 현황과 흐름을 통해 연예 뉴스의 현재와 미래를 살펴보기 위해, 본 연구에서는 일정 기간에 연예 뉴스 분야에서 발생한 단독 기사 전수를 수집해 내용을 분석하고 심층인터뷰를 실시했다. 단독 기사는 일반 기사보다 4.6배 메인에 많이 노출됐다. 언론사별 단독 기사 현황을 살펴본 결과 일부 매체를 중심으로 단독 기사가 집중적으로 생산되었고, 메인화면 노출 비율이 눈에 띄게 높은 언론매체도 존재했다. 기사 주제별 분석에서는 특정 주제의 단독 기사가 과반 이상을 차지하고 있었고, 동일 내용 기사량을 통해서는 단독 기사의 품질이 우수하지 않다는 결론을 낼 수 있었다. 심층 인터뷰에서는 단독 기사가 일시적인 유행이 아니라 구조적인 문제라고 지적됐다. 포털 저널리즘의 확대로 기사의 다양성이 저해되고 있어, 구조적인 문제를 해결하지 않는다면 기사의 품질이 낮아지는 악순환이 계속될 수 있다는 경고도 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 노동 환경의 개선, 기술적·윤리적 교육 강화, 적절한 수익 배분 필요성도 제기됐다. 또 포털의 가진 권한에 부합하는 사회적 책임도 부과하기 위한 제도가 필요하다는 점에 의견이 모아졌다.
