Job characteristics, personal-job fit, and job attitudes are of interests in the field of human resources management. Previous studies mainly suggest that job characteristics and personal-job fit are positively associated with job attitudes. However, most studies do not take into account job assignments, and some studies focus on phenomenon in a particular industry. To fill the gap, this thesis investigates the effects of job characteristics and personal-job fit on job attitudes employees in the game industry (e.g., online and mobile game company employees) and the findings are compared to those from employees who are not in the game industry. In this comparison, significant differences are observed that may provide important managerial implications to practitioners in the game industry. Also, some findings are not consistent to those in the previous studies, because employees in the game industry may have unique characteristics.
직무특성과 개인-직무 적합성 그리고 직무태도에 관련된 연구들은 인적자원의 관리 측면에서 그 동안 다양한 방식으로 다루어졌던 주제들이다. 직무특성과 개인-직무 적합성을 측정하기 위한 여러 가지 시도가 있었으며 직무태도에 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 실증 연구를 통해 증명함으로써 인사관리 측면에 많은 시사점을 제공해 주었다. 그 동안의 연구들은 직무를 특정하지 않고 여러 직무 수행자들을 한꺼번에 조사 대상으로 한 경우도 있었으며 직무나 산업군을 특정한 연구도 있었는데 본 학위 논문에서는 게임산업 종사자들 (온라인 및 모바일게임회사 재직자)로 한정하여 직무특성과 개인-직무 적합성을 측정하여 직무태도에 미치는 효과를 고찰하고 동시에 게임산업을 제외하고 산업군을 특정하지 않은 그룹에서도 동일한 조사를 진행하여 비교를 하였다. 그 결과, 게임산업 종사자들의 직무특성이 이직의도에 미치는 영향이 기존 연구가 일반적으로 보여준 결과와 다르게 도출 되었으며 게임산업과 타산업 종사자들의 비교 결과에서도 유의한 차이를 발견하여 게임산업 종사자들의 인적자원 관리에 시사점을 던져 주었다.
