This thesis considers the problem of constructing a dedicated simulation package for design analysis of AS/RS(automated storage/retrieval system) having a conveyor-type conveyance system. An object-oriented modeling scheme called JR-Net(job-resource relation net) is employed as a reference modeling tool: The AS/RS to be analyzed is modeled by using the JR-Net symbols, and then it is converted into an executable simulation program.
Because of its ease of model construction and good readibility, the JR-Net scheme turned out to be a useful modeling tool for computer simulation of AS/RS. However, there exist some limitations in modeling "real-life" AS/RS having complex control logics. Additionally, there should be a systematic procedure get to be developed in order to convert it into an executable simulation program.
This thesis consists of the following three phases:
1) revision and expansion of the existing JR-Net scheme to enhance its modeling power
2) construction of a method for converting the JR-Net model into an Event Graph
3) development of a dedicated simulator.
