Performance of the Continuously Variable Transmission(CVT) for the various models was investigated. Various CVT's composed of Torque converter, planetary gear, hydraulic pump, hydraulic motor were modeled and simulated on the basis of the same vehicle condition. Primary simulation has been executed for the acceleration performance, and some factors governing the performance were discussed for the characteristis of the suggested model types. Simulation results reveal that the best CVT model is the Type B2 which consists of the planetary gear, hydraulic pump and hydraulic motor. It takes only 13.4 sec to reach from rest to the speed of 100 km/hr on the asuumption that hydraulic pump torque control and hydraulic motor torque have simulating conditions. The general performance of Type B2 appears to be better than that of 4 speed automatic transmission equipped vehicles.
