This thesis is concerned with economic design of two-stage screening procedures based on the screening and performance variables which guarantee a prescribed outgoing quality. In a two-stage screening procedure, a screening variable is used first to decide whether an item should be accepted, rejected, or undecided and the performance variable is then used to classify the undecided items.
Design of two-stage screening procedures involves determining cutoff values for a screening variable. A cost model is constructed which involves costs due to screening and performance inspections and type I and type II misclassification errors. Optimal cutoff values on the screening variable minimizing the expected cost are obtained subject to the constraint that the average outgoing quality exceeds a prespecified level. Methods of finding the optimal cutoff values are presented for both parameters-known and parameters-unknown cases.
This thesis is divided into the following three parts.
(i) Two-stage screening procedures are considered where the screening and performance variable are both continuous and a single specification limit is given on the performance variable. The two variables are assumed to have a bivariate normal distribution.
(ii) Two-stage screening procedures with continuous screening and performance variables are considered for the case where both lower and upper specification limits are given on the performance variable. A cost model is constructed involving six cost components since each of type I and type II misclassification errors occurs in relation with both lower and upper specification limits.
(iii) Two-stage screening procedures are designed where the screening variable X is continuous and the performance variable T is dichotomous. Two models are considered; i) the logistic model where P(T = 1│x) is assumed to be a logistic function of x and ii) the normal model where X given T is assumed to be normally distributed.
최근, 생산된 제품의 출검품질을 높이기 위해 자동화된 검사장치에 의한 전수선별검사가 산업현장에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 검사대상이 되는 제품의 주 품질특성치를 측정함에 있어서 제품을 파괴해야 되거나 많은 비용이 요구될 경우, 주 품질특성을 직접 측정하는 것은 불가능하거나 비경제적이 된다. 그래서 제품의 주 품질특성을 나타내는 성능변수를 직접 측정하는 대신, 그와 높은 상관관계를 가지면서 측정이 용이한 대용변수(스크리닝 변수)를 측정하여 제품을 선별하는 스크리닝 절차에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 그런데, 스크리닝변수에 의한 제품의 선별은 성능변수와 의 상관관계가 완전하지 않으면 필연적으로 검사과오를 수반하게 된다. 여기서 만약 성능변수를 직접 측정하는 것이 비싸기는 하지만 가능하다면, 1단계로 스크리닝변수로 검사하여 그 측정치에 의한 합부판정이 애매한 제품에 대해서만 2단계로 성능변수를 직접 측정함으로써 큰 비용의 증가없이 검사과오를 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문은 이와 같은 2단계 선별검사방식에 대한 연구로서 다음 세 부분으로 구성되어 있다.
첫째, 스크리닝변수 및 성능변수가 모두 연속형 변수이고 성능변수에 한쪽 규격이 주어져 있을 때, 두 변수가 2변량 정규분포를 따른다는 가정하에 모수가 모두 알려져 있을 경우와 모두 미지일 경우에 대하여 평균출검품질을 보증하는 경제적 2단계 선별검사방식을 구하였다. 스크리닝 및 성능변수에 의한 검사비용과 제 1종 및 제 2종 과오에 따른 비용으로 구성되는 총 비용을 최소화함에 있어서 평균출검품질이 미리 정해진 어떤 수준 이상이 되도록 하는 제약조건을 추가하여 최적 선별검사정책을 구하였다.
둘째, 스크리닝변수 및 성능변수가 모두 연속형 변수이고 성능변수에 양쪽 규격이 주어져 있을 경우에 대한 2단계 선별검사방식을 설계하였다. 이 때, 비용함수의 구성요소는 스크리닝 및 성능변수에 의한 검사비용, 규격하한에 관련된 제 1종 및 제 2종 과오에 따른 비용, 그리고 규격상한에 관련된 제 1종 및 제 2종 과오에 따른 비용의 여섯가지가 된다.
세째, 스크리닝변수가 연속형 변수이고 성능변수가 이치형 변수일 경우, 두 변수 사이의 관계가 로지스틱 모형과 정규모형으로 주어질 때의 2단계 선별검사방식을 구하였다. 여기서 로지스틱 모형은 스크리닝변수의 관측값이 주어졌을 때 제품이 양품일 조건부 확률이 그 관측값의 로지스틱 함수로 주어지는 모형이며, 정규모형은 성능변수가 주어졌을 때의 스크리닝 변수의 조건부 분포가 정규분포인 모형이다. 두 모형에 대해 각각 평균출검품질을 보증하면서 스크리닝 변수 및 성능변수의 검사비용과 두 종류의 검사과오에 따른 비용으로 구성되는 총 기대비용을 최소화하는 선별기각치를 구하였다.
