In many decision making situations, it is not always easy for the decision maker to structurize the decision making problems and to select alternatives, although he has some knowledge and experience. Thus, there have been many researches for the development of Decision Support Systems(DSSs) which support structuring decision-making problem and the selection of alternatives.
The primary methodologies of these have been Goal-Directed Approach and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). But such methodologies do not fit well in the case of the complicated decision situations which may have multiple hierarchical goals, restrictions on resources, and special relations among alternatives.
This study suggests a new methodology of structuring and selecting which can be applied for such a complicated decision making situation, using fuzzy set theory and search algorithm. The implementation of this methodology on IBM-PC is also presented.
