Packet voice protocol has been realized in many research works[1][2][3][4][5]. But few studies for the interconnection of LAN and PABX to facilitate the voice communication has been done.
In this thesis, the gateway to interconnect the Ethernet LAN with the existing PABX telephone network for voice communication is designed and implemented. The implemented gateway protocol is a modified protocol based on CCITT's G.764 packetized voice protocol.
To accomplish this goal the hardware system has been realized, which is divided into five parts : interface part with the telephone line, voice-processing part. PC interface part, controller part, and DTMF connecting part. And the gateway software is divided into three parts: interface to make use of the packet driver which drives network card, driver to drive the PABX gateway, and the protocol-execution part.

본 논문에서는 LAN과 기존의 PABX사이의 음성통신을 위한 게이트웨이를 설계하고 구현하였다.
구현한 게이트웨이의 프로토콜은 CCITT의 G.764 패킷 음성 프로토콜을 수정하였다. 이를 위한 하드웨어 시스템을 구현하였으며, 이는 전화선과의 인터페이스 부분, 음성처리부분, PC 인터페이스 부분 및 제어부분, 그리고 DTMF 접속부분으로 나누어진다. 그리고 소프트웨어는 network card를 구동하는 packet driver를 이용하기위한 interface부분과 gateway를 구동하는 driver, 그리고 프로토콜 처리부분으로 구성되어있다.
