This study provides the basis for investigating the benefits of purchasing volume reduction equipment and includes the establishment of a volume reduction data base, the creation of the volume reduction cost analysis computer program PEEVR (Program of Economic Evaluation for the Volume Reduction), and a generic analysis designed to identify the major costs influencing the economics of the various equipment options.
In treating the plant types and the wastes, this study considers that condensate polishing system is included or not in PWR and precoat condensate polishing system, deep bed condensate polishing system in BWR and the 5 waste streams, i.e., compactible trash (COTRASH), ion exchange resin (IXRESIN), concentrate liquid (CONCLIQ), filter sludge (FSLUDGE), non compactible trash (COTRASH).
This study uses the PVRR and LRR methods to create cost analysis and performs sensitivity analysis for the each cost variable and shows that future burial costs increases are the major factors in the economic evaluation.
방사성 폐기물 처리 및 처분 비용의 상승으로 인하여 폐기물의 감용 기술에 대한 관심이 증가 하여 왔다. 그로 인하여 감용 기술에 대한 경제성 평가도 필수적으로 수반 되어야 했다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 감용 기술에 대한 경제성 평가를 수행하는 컴퓨터 프로그램을 작성하는데 있어서 필요한 많은 입력 자료를 조사하고 응용하여 경제성 평가 컴퓨터 프로그램을 작성하였으며 현재 사용되고 있는 일반적인 14가지 감용 기술에 대해서도 경제성 평가를 수행하였다.
경제성 평가를 함에 있어 폐기물의 종류를 5가지로 분류 하였으며 자본 비용과 운전 비용을 고려 하였다. 자본 비용은 다시 발전소내 저장에 드는 비용과 감용 기술을 도입 하는데 드는 비용으로 분류 하였으며 운전 비용은 발전소에서 드는 비용, 매립장까지의 수송 비용, 그리고 매립 비용으로 분류 하였으며 이러한 비용들을 필요수익의 현재가치 (PVRR) 방법과 균등화된 필요수익 (LRR) 방법으로 평가를 하였다.
경제성 평가 수행 결과 총 비용은 매립 비용에 의해 상당히 민감하게 변하였고 가압경수로의 경우 압축성 폐기물이 많아서 고압 압축기나 초고압 압축기를 사용하는 것이 경제적인 것으로 나타났다.
