The objective of this study is to design and fabricate microphone using piezoelectric ceramic material(PZT) that can measure the acoustic pressures in general. The main tenet was to develop an appropriate amplifier for having the acoustic signal nearly as the same as electric noise sensed by the piezoelectric ceramic. So, the difference charge amplifier was designed and the received pressure signals were investigated. The important factors for preserving the better performance of this microphone were preventing electric noise, providing definite boundary condition around piezoelectric ceramic and that of equal quality. To characterize the microphone, linearity, sensitivity and directivity tests were carried out by comparing with the Bruel & Kjaer condenser type microphone 4165 proved by Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science.
