It has been noticed that enhancement of the mycelium growth in the early stage of Lentinus edodes cultivation is important to prevent the invasion of antagonistic fungi, and to increase the fruiting body yield. In an attempt to construct more efficient synthetic substrate formula(to produce effective synthetic logs ultimatly) for cultivation of Lentinus edodes, I have investigated additive effects of various nutriments, pretreatment effects and comparative analysis of wood composition in four different sawdust(Oak, Pine, Larch, Lauan) as basic media. I analized also the composition of rice bran and BITEL which was known to be effective additive. In addition, I have carried out the study on the acceleration of fruiting body formation.
