From the mid 1980's, there has been a remarkable growth in Group Decision Support System(GDSS) researches. Most of these studies, derived by computer scientists, have made efforts on the hardwares to build the system supporting group decisions. However, there has been little research on the whole Group Decision Process which supports to structurize complex strategic decision problem, reduce problem-implicit uncertainty and mediate strong disagreement on factual or value judgements among group members. More attention should be paid on developing the methodology which combines the rational group decision process of decision analysis and technology of computer science. In this study, we survey the overall contents on GDSS up to the present, and investigate the research from a decision-analytic standpoint. Then, a whole process of the group decisions is proposed. Based on the process, we present the methodology for building GDSS under being supported by group decision technologies and decision analytic-techniques. This integrated group decision process provides the environment which allows decision makers to participate the whole process and to structurize strategic decision problem consisting of complex context.
