Nowadays, many of educational institutions throughout the country have prompted to incorporate instruction in computer graphics into their industrial design curricula. The computer has the possibility of becoming an integrated and necessary component in the design process. Certain aspects of the design process will necessarily be altered with the growing use of computer in the field of industrial design. The advantages and limitations of these new technologies(computer) will force significant departures from current curricula and will demand the development of novel program designer, and new teachning strategies. In this study, the history and applications of computer graphics were reviewed and their hardware and software were surveyed. The traditional industrial design process and tools of design presentation were then described. The survey was designed to provide a profile of computer graphics programs and to yield insight into the process of curriculum design. Finally, this paper suggests the restructuring of the curriculum for computer graphics in the industrial design, and methods and directions of teaching them. The usage of computer graphics to its full can be done more effectively after systematic college education and this could mean opening another horizon to the world of design. The main target of the industrial deaign education institutes should be to reveal the hidded creativities in its students and train the ability to express such creativies in its students and train the ability to express such creativies. The computer in design should be viewed not only as a tool for efficient creation of same product but as a method of finding the ways to fulfill such demands. So the world of industrial design and design education should constantly be reseaching to find such method.
