We consider a digital communication system consists of an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel, the binary antipodal signaling and Reed-Solomon (RS) code. We propose a soft-decision demodulation scheme and analyze the block error probability. We also consider a hard-decision channel model and a concatenated coding model and compare their block error probabilities.
