Cracks in rubber bonded to a rigid material such as steel are analyzed with the aid of the hybrid finite element technique. Firstly the weak form is developed for finite element analysis of an incompressible material, and the hybrid elements are employed for the incompressible finite elements. The Mooney-Rivlin form is assumed for the constitutive modeling of the rubber. The J-integral is calculated for varying crack length and the crack growth stability is discussed.
