Mixed convection in a two-dimensional channel with periodically placed rectangular heat generating blocks is numerically investigated. The Navier-Stokes and energy equations are solved in the computational domain that encompasses a single block with streamwise periodic boundary conditions. Calculations are performed for two differeent channel wall boundary conditions, i.e. 1) adiabatic and 2) periodic.
The results are presented for a range of Gr and various geometric arrangements. The results for the periodic boundary condition appear to be quite different from that for the adiabatic conditions ; The care must therefore be taken when analyzing similar problems.
