$[\{S(CH_2)_2S(CH_2)_2S\}InC_2B_9H_{11}]_2(BzNMe_3)_2$(2a)Complex was synthesized through substitution reaction of [10-endo-{$Cl_2$In(THF)}-7,8-nido-$C_2B_9H_{11}$] ($BzNMe_3$)(1a) with $NaS(CH_2)_2S(CH_2)_2SNa$. The structure of 2a was established by X-ray diffraction study. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group PT with a=8.608(2), b=11.886(3), c=13.283(4)Å, α=79.39(2), β=76.71(2), $\gamma=73.82(2)^{\circ}$, $V=1259.7 \mathring{A}^3$ and Z=1.
Reaction among In$(SPh)_2$I, $TI_2C_2B_9H_{11}$ and [$NMe_4$]Br was expected to give $[(SPh)_3(InC_2B_9H_{11})_2] (NMe_4)$(6), which was characterized by spectroscopic data.
Substitution reactions of 1a or $[ClIn(THF)_x(C_2B_9H_{11})]$(7) with various nucleophiles were tried.
$[10-endo-\{Cl_2In(THF)\}-7,8-nido-C_2B_9H_{11}] (BzNMe_3)(1a)$ 와 3자리 리간드인 $NaS(CH_2)_2S(CH_2)_2SNa$ 간의 친핵 치환 반응을 통하여 $[\{S(CH_2)_2S(CH_2)_2S\}InC_2B_9H_{11}]_2 (BzNMe_3)_2$ (2a)가 합성되었다. 2a 는 X선 구조 결정에 의해 그 구조가 밝혀졌다. 결정 2a 는 삼사정계에 속하며, a=8.608(2), b=11.886(3), c=13.283(4)Å, α=79.39(2), β=76.71(2), $\gamma=73.82(2)^{\circ}$, $V=1259.7 \mathring{A}^3$와 Z=1 이었다.
$In(SPh)_2I$, $Tl_2C_2B_9H_{11}$ 와 $[NMe_4]Br$ 사이의 반응은 분광학적 결과로 부터 $[(SPh)_3(InC_2B_9H_{11})_2](NMe_4)$ (6)가 예견된다.
1a 또는 $[ClIn(THF)_x(C_2B_9H_{11})]$ (7)과 여러가지 친핵체와의 반응성이 연구되었다.
