This is to investigate the mixing structure in a jet with a crossflow. According to the recently published papers, the mixing structure of this flow field is dominated by a pair of bound vortices attached to the lee side of the jet boundary and by a vortex shedding system. To explain the vortex structure, the flow visualizations by means of sheet-like LASER beam and measurements of mean concentration by using the gas chromatography were carried out. The results obtained are as follows. Firstly, The visualized results and the measurements of mean concentration field show that theconcentration field at down-stream is dominated by the bound vortex structure. Secondly, the flow with a skirt is disturbed more severely than the one without a skirt. Thirdly, the combustion reduces the mixing effect of bound vortex due to the laminarization of flow.
