This thesis deals with automated storage/retrieval carousel systems. Expected travel times of the storage/retrieval machines are studied for two types of the systems, one for single carousel and the other for double carousel. For single carousel, it is assumed that the information on the next command is available at the beginning of the execution of the previous one. Based on randomized assignment rule, the expected single and dual command times are determined analytically for most of the cases. For the case with single command in double carousel, the continuous rack simulation is adopted to estimate the travel time."
본 논문에서는 두 종류의 자동 입출고 Carousel 시스템을 다룬다. 하나는 전체가 하나의 rack 으로 구성된 단층(Single) Carousel 시스템이며 다음번 주문 정보를 이용 한다. 다른 하나는 전체가 중간 높이에서 잘려 두개의 rack으로 구성된 복층(Double) Carousel 시스템이다. 본 논문에서 다루어지는 두 모델 모두 S/R(Storage/Retrieval) 기계만 움직이는 시간동안 Carousel rack을 가능한 회전시킴으로써 S/R기계의 효율을 높여 시스템의 성능을 향상시킨다. 두 모델에서 물품은 rack의 임의 위치에 저장되며 각 경우에 단일명령(Single Command)및 이중 명령(Dual Command) 평균 주행 시간이 연구된다.
