Applicability of existing elastoplastic models to the prediction of non-linear behavior of Han river sand is examined in this research. For that purpose, four models, such as Cam-Clay model, Cap model, Hyperbolic model and Desai's failure criterion, are adopted.
Various stress path triaxial tests were conducted to obtain the soil parameters of each constitutive model. The predicted behavior through numerical analysis using the four models with the obtained soil parameters was compared with the experimental stress-strain relationship.
The results obtained in this study are as follows:
o The non-linear behavior of Han river sand is well predicted by Cam-Clay model and Cap model.
o It is preferable to use Cam-Clay Model since the soil parameters related to Cap model are much more complex than those of Cam-Clay model.
