This essay suggests a few alternative images of the future for the disabled with bionic prosthesis by analysing the main drivers of the future and how each of the main drivers is involved in each of the images of the future. The term ‘disability’ is mainly bounded to physical disabilities in this paper due to the limitation in distinguishing the physical appearance between the normal and mentally disabled. Proposals of hopeful and preferable future images for the disabled and warnings of the current trending bionic prosthesis technology to the researchers and the government officials are described using different scenarios in terms of the importance of policy-making and the essentiality of controlling the appropriate use of the technology for bionic prostheses. This paper explains and illustrates to help the future generations draw the image of the various futures of a society that is in harmony with the disabled people.
이 연구는 생체공학기기를 사용하는 장애인들에게 나타 날 수 있는 여러 가지의 미래상을 제시하고 각각 핵심동인들의 변화로 인해 다른 미래가 구현 될 수 있음을 보여줍니다. 이 논문에서 거론하는 ‘장애’는 대부분 육체적인 장애를 말하며 육안으로 구분이 제한적인 정신적인 장애는 포함하고 있지 않습니다. 장애인들에겐 희망적이고 선호적인 미래상을 제시하고 연구기관과 정부기관에는 현재 발전하고 있는 생체공학기기로 인해 일어날 수 있는 미래상을 통해 정책결정의 중요성과 기술통제능력 제고의 필요성을 경각시킬 수 있도록 시나리오를 작성하였습니다. 이 논문은 정부의 역할, 사회의 인식과 기술의 발전이 미래 장애인들의 삶을 좌우하는 중요한 변수임을 보여주며 미래세대가 장애인과 더불어 사는 다양한 미래의 이미지를 머릿속에 그릴 수 있도록 설명합니다.
