Electro-optic implementation of a new neural network model with fixed global interconnections and adaptive local gain control studied for 1-dimensional input and output patterns. The fixed global interconnections are accomplished by 2-dimensional film patterns, and the adaptive local gains are controlled by binary MOSLM with time multiplexing or LCTV. Four binary input patterns, 24 elements each, are classified into(2,4) groups in the implementation.
